Copyright is ordinarily used to secure literary, dramatic, musical, and creative works, including cinematograph films and sound tapes. A software or a programme or tables and databases are all protected as ‘literary work’ under Copyright Act. A copyright is a legal right that gives an independent right to an individual who earlier creates the work. Any right that is granted by the copyright registration must be practised rightfully.

Like any printed book, the e-book can obtain copyrights protection exclusive to the author or the creator of the E-book. The law does not furnish any rights to anyone who physically possesses the e-book. So purchasing or downloading an E-book does not include any copyright rights.
E-book piracy is rising, along with the increase of modern devices that give E-books a whole new area of opportunities. It reflects on the sales of electronic books that are in demand.
